Good things here

residence are very friendly and helpful. it is also safe for ladies at night. shopping malls and famous restaurant are with in 5 minute away. this place have low traffic and streat light are working fine. easily accessible public transportation auto cabs etc.read more

there is no metro station nearby. and the building need to colour properly. the building need some cleaning people and maintenance.read more

Good things here

It is very well connected as it is just 5 minutes from the Baidyabati railway station. There are plenty of good schools available nearby, Malls and restaurants are also available at ease. The neighborhood is excellent and it's very calm just peaceful. Electricity and water are available 24 hours daily without any inconvenience, Streetlights are lit for a late evening walk it is very calm to walk in the late evening. The quality of the roads is decent and there's not much traffic in the area. There's no clogging situation during monsoons.read more

Baidyabati is a city and a municipality in Hooghly district in the state of West Bengal, India. Now it is a part of the area covered by Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority. The name Baidyabati developed as many ‚ Baidyas‚ (doctors) used to live there. It covers an area of 11.5 Sq.Km. The distance from Kolkata to Baidyabati is 40Km. The several small but important towns in the district are each a testimony to the rule of foreign settlers such as the British and Portuguese at Hooghly, the Dutch at Chinsurah, the French at Chandernagore, and the Germans and Austrians at Bhadreshwar. The Portuguese were the first to settle here in 1537, but were defeated by Shah Jahan in 1632. The British East India Company then followed and set up a factory here in 1651. Chandernagore was once a French colony and is still influenced by French language and culture. The Hooghly (as the Ganga river is called here) dominates the landscape and people use ferries to cross over from one town to another.
