Palghar is one of the most upcoming districts in the immediate periphery of Mumbai. Since it is situated in the proximity of the Maharashtra’s biggest MIDC (Tarapur MIDC), it has tremendous potential & infinite possibilities for the future growth & development. This MIDC houses more than 1500 manufacturing units, of which some of the renowned ones are Tata Steel, Jindal Steel, Viraj, Siyarams, Tarapur Power station, Bombay Rayon and Camlin. All the nodal government agencies like the Nagar Parishad, PWD Office, MSEB, Tehsil Office, Sub Registrar Office, Sikshan Vibhaag and Session Court are situated over here. The Western Rail route, which will soon commence the local-train network between Virar and Dahanu, will establish areas like Palghar as an extended region of Mumbai itself. Located next to Virar, it has direct road access to the Mumbai Ahmedabad Highway (NH-8). Mumbai Chatrapati Shivaji International Airport and Bus stand are also easily accessible from here. In addition, beautiful beaches (Kelva, Mahim and Satpati), ancient forts (Kelva and Shirgaon) and Manor Dam in the vicinity of Palghar make the place an attractive tourist getaway. Maharashtra’s largest fishing center, Satpati is also at a driving distance from Palghar.
