Kaimur District is one of the 38 districts within the Indian State of Bihar. The headquarters of the district are located at Bhabua. This was once within the Rohtas District prior to the year 1991. Until 1764, it was in the Ghazipur District and also the Kamsaar Raj. It was later made into a part of the Chainpur Estate till the year 1837. The district covers 3,363 square kilometres in total with a population estimated at 1,626,384 people as of the year 2011. The languages spoken here include Bhojpuri and Hindi. The district has a historical past, with evidence of human settlements found here from 20,000 years earlier within its Lehda Forest. The coordinates of Kaimur are 25.0546° N, 83.6774° E.
