Kalyani is a locality in the northern part of Kolkata. The locality is a part of the Nadia district and is around 50 kilometers away from the central part of Kolkata, which is quite some distance, thus causing a bit of inconvenience for those who have to travel to the prominent parts of the city on a daily basis. It resides on the eastern banks of the Hooghly river. The locality falls under the jurisdiction of the Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority. During the second world war, the locality acted as an American military airbase. The soil and water in this region are predominantly alluvial.

In 2014, Kalyani was selected as a candidate for the Smart City project. The locality is home to various industries, especially in the Block-D area. All facilities like markets, highways, parks, schools, and hospitals are available in close range. Some of the localities surrounding Kalyani include Kanchrapara, Kulia, Majherchar, etc. There is ample greenery in the locality and the Pin Code of Kalyani is 741235. The locality is well-planned and offers ample residential apartments. 

How to reach Kalyani?
Kalyani is located at a distance of 50.3 km from Kolkata. The best way to reach Kalyani from Kolkata is by car via National Highway 34. The journey would take approximately 1 hour 15 minutes. For public transport, the state-run buses and private buses ply regularly from Kolkata, and the journey would take around 1 hour and 30 minutes. You can also take a train from Kolkata’s Sealdah station and get down at Kalyani Ghat station, which is located in the heart of the city. The journey would take approximately 45 minutes.

Good things here

this area are very beautiful. and auto and cabs are all time available. place ar save no crime era. And it's nearly easily accessible hospitals & public transport. and nearly local market. safe for night for women

Good things here

this area is very nice. everyone like together. the electricity supply is good which is the all the time and the connectivity fare is also simple.l there is no problem of water shortage there are good moles and restaurants nearby and school and malls nearby temples nearby weekly market is also nearby there are grocery shop nearby beauty parlour and hair cutting shop nearby public transports and like a taxi facility and auto facilities available every time there is goods and good for hospital kids play with other peoples and social is other.

Things need improvement

in many places the street light do not work properly. they are is need to build roads properly in some places. there is a need to install cctv cameras and security guard also available in nights for their better security.

Good things here

This area is very nice, everyone lives here together.The electricity supply is good which is there all the time and the electricity fare is also normal. there is no problem of water shortage. There are good malls and restaurants nearby. There are temples nearby and a weekly market is also nearby. There is a grocery shop nearby where you can get all the things.Public transportation and taxi facility is also good which is available every time. There is a good school and hospital nearby. There is a park nearby where there are swings for kids to play.

Good things here

The locality is clean and peaceful. Local market and mall avaliable in the area so you can buy your necessary items easily. Hospital and medical store also available in the area. Many school,resturent present in the locality. Electric charges normal and power cuts also rare. Cabs and Buses available most of the time in the locality.
