Saidapet also known as Saidai, a neighbourhood area of Chennai, situated in the northern banks of the Adyar River which also serves as the access to central Chennai. The area covers 2.87 sq. km with coordinates of 13.0235° N 80.2237°E. The climate in this area is hot and humid all throughout the year. The estimated population of Saidapet is 97828 where the numbers of males and females are 50961 and 46867 respectively. People here speak in Tamil, Hindi and English but Tamil is official language of this place. Infrastructure and Details Saidapet is famous for several temples, churches, mosque in this area. For example, if you are a tourist, you can visit to Kaaraneeswarar Temple (750m), Prasanna Venkatesa Koli (12.5km) and Little mount church (2.1km) etc. Jeenis road in Saidapet is taken as the traffic checkpoint which is well-connected with several parts of this place. The suburban railway station near Saidapet is situated between the Guindy and Mambalam stations (2.5km). Saidapet has an MTC bus terminal that is located on Anna Salai connects the city as well as other parts and outskirts. The first phase of Chennai Metro was inaugurated at this place.
