Also called Sonepur, Subarnapur is the district headquarters and a town in the Subarnapur district of Odisha. Subarnapur district spreads throughout an area of 2284.89 km2. With coordinates at 20.9338° N and 83.8049° E, it is also called the Second Varanasi of India. The climate of this place belongs to the moderate climate, where the wet season is oppressive and overcast and dry season is mostly clear. The total population of Subarnapur is 610,183 out of which male are 311,312 and female are 298,871. People here mainly speak in odia, but they also speak Hindi as well.
