Lower Subansiri

This is one of the main administrative districts in Arunachal Pradesh. The district was created with the sub-division of the district into the Lower and Upper districts in the year 1987. The Lower Subansiri District has an ancient legacy linked to the Chutiya Kingdom. The Papum Pare District was split up in 1999 for creating a new district and this was again done in 2001 with the Kurung Kumey District being made. The Kamle District was approved in 2017 as well. The headquarters of this district lie at Ziro with a population of 83,030 people as of the year 2011. The coordinates of Lower Subansiri District are 27.6169° N, 93.8392° E.
