Public Transport is easily available. Schools and hospitals are nearby. There are great restaurants nearby for a family dinner. Great Place with less pollution and less crowded.read more

Etymology wise, the village's name is derived from the words 'pothi' which mean 'stone' and 'nama' which mean 'to offer'. The village has been known for its stone offerings to the deity in the temple. Fishing and aquaculture are also the primary occupations in the village. The village is easily accessible by road and there is a bus stand nearby. There are also many hotels for the tourists to stay.
