Palakollu is the administrative headquarter at Palakollu Mandal. It is at Narasapuram, located in the Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh. Here, the Ksheerarama is famous among the five Pancharama Kshetras. Spread over an area of 4.685 square kilometres, it is one of the state's coastal regions. With a total population of 104,216, it is the third-largest district and the 30th largest in Andhra Pradesh.
At an altitude of 1.5 metres, Palakollu is on National Highways 165 and 216. It has Vijayawada and Krishna districts towards the west, Amalapuram and Bay of Bengal on the east, Rajahmundry and East Godavari district on the north and Narasapuram with the Bay of Bengal on the south.
