Madhya Pradesh, India, 484224

Anuppur is the administrative headquarters of Anuppur Tehsil and Anuppur district in Madhya Pradesh, India. This southeastern city of Madhyapradesh was once a part of the Shahdol District and later separated to form a new Anuppur district. The total area of Anuppur District is 3,746.71 sq. km. The city is covered by mountain ranges and rivers and is located at an average elevation of 505 m above sea level. Anuppur has distinct temperatures; rainfall offers from June to October. The hottest month in the city in June and January is the lowest. The estimated population of the town is 26,397. The city coordinates are 23.1°N and 81.68°E. Hindi is the official language here.
Infrastructure and Details
Anuppur is governed by Nagar Palika Parishad. A few famous places near the city are Narmada Udgam Temple, Ancient Temples of Kalachuri, Kapildhara waterfalls, and others. Bilaspur (123 km), Korba (132 km), and Rewa (164 km) are the nearby cities of Anuppur. Anuppur junction is the common railway station for Anuppur and other tehsils under the Anuppur district. Dumna Jabalpur at 240 km is the nearest airport to the town. There are a few educational institutions in the surrounding Anuppur and government colleges. More than 99 small scale Industries are established in the Anuppur district, and some of them are located in the Anuppur town. The city is covered with forests of Sal, Amla, Teak, Sarai, Acacia, etc. These make small scale industries like basket making, bamboo products production, etc. There are several financial institutions like the Central Bank of India, Allahabad Bank, Bank of India, and others.
