It is close to Kolkata and also a part of the area covered by the Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority (KMDA). Baguiati lies off the Kazi Nazrul Islam Sarani, popularly known as VIP Road, in the north eastern periphery of Kolkata. It is developing into an important commercial and trade center. Lake Town, Dum Dum Park, Krishnapur (more popularly known as Kestopur), Teghoria, Kaikhali, New Town, and Salt Lake cities are the nearby areas of Baguiati. Baguiati is a prominent locality placed on the VIP Road. The locality is a residential hub in the north-eastern part of Kolkata. It comes under the jurisdiction of Bidhan Nagar Municipal Corporation and is a part of the Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority (KMDA).
