Malur is a taluk and town located in the Kolar District of Karnataka. It is located about 35 kilometers from Bengaluru and is known for its traditional temples, forts and other attractions. Over the years, Malur has emerged as an attractive destination for industrial development due to its physical and strategic location. It falls within the Bengaluru Urban district and is an ideal centre for industrial and commercial activities in the region. The town has several ancient temples and monuments, the most prominent being the Chennaraya Swamy temple that is more than 600 years old. Other temples include Sri Mugali Maramma temple, Sri Thimmarayaswamy temple, Kanakadasa Temple, Malladeva Temple and more. Other attractions include the Nallamma Betta hill, Siddhapura Lake, Siddeshwara Gudda and local markets. Agriculture is the main occupation of the people of Malur, with the main crops being paddy, groundnut, jowar and cotton. The town is well connected by road, rail and air routes making it easy for visitors to access the nearby cities and tourist attractions. The climate here is generally moderate, making it a pleasant place to visits during any season.
