Between the Tiruvallur District of Tamil Nadu and the Chittoor District of Andhra Pradesh is the border town of Pallipattu Tamil Nadu. It is renowned for its abundant and productive agricultural areas and is fortunate to have the "Kusasthalai," a river that flows from west to east. The coordinates of Pallipat are 13.33°N 79.45°E. It is 154 meters above sea level on average (505 feet). Pallipattu has 10012 residents as of the 2001 India Census. Males make up 50% of the population, while females make up 50%. The Andhra Pradesh and Madras Alteration of Boundaries Act was passed by the Indian Parliament in 1959 in accordance with article 3 of the constitution, and it became effective on April 1st, 1960. In accordance with the statute, Madras State received the Tirutani Taluk and Pallipattu Sub-Taluk of the Chittoor District in Andhra Pradesh in return for territory from the Chingelput (Chengalpattu and Salem Districts). From 1977 to 2007, Pallipattu served as a state assembly district in Tamil Nadu; thereafter, it became a component of Tiruttani (State Assembly Constituency). It also belongs to and is in Arakkonam (Lok Sabha constituency).
