Annanagar east is a posh locality situated in the northern part of Chennai. It was developed by the Tamil Nadu housing board in the 1700s and has several residential zones, commercial areas, parks and gardens, schools, health institutions, and wide and clean roads. The area has a green cover of more than 20% as of 2018. Anna Nagar is a part of the Chennai Central lok sabha constituency and is one of the most well-laid-out neighborhoods in Tamil Nadu. The location can be accessed by two bus stops in East and West and is located in close proximity to the Koyembedu bus stand. The airport is located at a distance of about 17 km from the area. Annanagar is located near other prominent areas like Padi, Villivakkam, Shenoy nagar, Kilpauk, etc. The locality is also well connected by the metro.
