Arrah

Bihar, India, 802301

Arrah is a city in the Bhojpur district of Bihar, India, and a Municipal Corporation. It is sometimes spelt as Ara and is located near the Ganges and Sone rivers. The city coordinates are 25°33'27"N and 84°40'12"E, spreading over an area of 49 sq. km, and have an elevation of 192 m above sea level. The temperature of Arrah is relatively high throughout the year and has an evenly distributed precipitation. Arrah was previously called Shahabad, named by Babur, and was a part of the Shahabad district. The estimated population of the city is 261,430. Hindi, Urdu, and Bhojpuri are widely spoken languages of Arrah.
Infrastructure and Details
Arrah Municipal Corporation administers the city. Some of the famous places in the town are Aranya Devi Temple, Maula Bagh Mosque, Koilwar Bridge, and others. Danapur (39 km) and Patna (58 km) are the major cities in the neighbourhood of Arrah. Ara Junction Railway station serves the town of Arrah. The closest airport to the town is Lok Nayak Jayaprakash Narayan International Airport. Some of the educational institutions in the city are Veer Kunwar Singh University, Harprasad Das Jain College, Maharaja College, and others. Schools in Arrah are affiliated with the Bihar school examination board and the Central Board of secondary education. Koilwar is the industrial area near the city. The alluvial soil of Arrah makes it suitable for brick making firms, and the city makes the largest revenue from building materials like bricks and sand. Property in Arrah Several housing units are available in Arrah; especially under the government projects, one can find some affordable staycation. These units may vary from independent houses and apartments to residential plots that are new or resale properties. The floor area depends on the type of accommodation you choose. Some of the housing schemes available in the city are the Bihar State Housing Board schemes and Bihar Mukhyamantri Gramin Awas Yojana.
