Birati is one of the prominent and most popular residential localities of West Bengal. It is a north Dumdum municipality area situated in the north 24 parganas district. The locality has been developed by Kolkata metropolitan development authority (KMDA). It is surrounded by various prominent localities of Kolkata, including Dumdum, Madhyamgram, New Barrackpore, and Nimta Birati is a rapidly growing area, far from its saturation point. It lies at a close distance from the industrial hubs of Kolkata, like Salt Lake Sector V and New Town. Both the hubs are located within a distance of 20 km from Birati. It takes less than 30 minutes to reach these hubs. The hubs have a presence of the IT companies like TCS, CTS, Wipro, Deloitte, and Capgemini. BBD bagh of central Kolkata is 19 km away from the locality and has several PSU offices.
