June 19, 2023: The Aerocity Metro Station on the Tughlakabad-Aerocity Silver Line planned for Delhi Metro Phase 4 project will have the longest platform among all silver line metro stations, according to media reports. The platform, construction work for which has begun, will be 289 metre.
According to an official statement by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), generally the underground metro stations in Delhi Metro’s Phase 4 are around 225 metre. However, the new station will be the longest among all phase-4 stations. It has been designed to accommodate the heavy passenger traffic as the station will be a triple interchange facility with connectivity among the Airport Express Line, the Silver Line, RRTS corridor to Gurgaon, Manesar and Alwar.
The station will be developed 23 metre underground to provide seamless connectivity to the other two lines, providing a transit network connecting Faridabad, South Delhi and West Delhi to the Indira Gandhi International Airport.
The Aerocity Metro Station will have three entry/exit points. One will connect to the business hub of Aerocity and the other two will connect to the NH8 and Mahipalpur to the station.
The Tughlakabad-Aerocity corridor has been developed to address the increasing demand for connectivity and transportation from Mehrauli-Badarpur, Chhatarpur Extension and Mahipalpur areas, according to the principal executive director corporate communications of DMRC, Anuj Dayal.
