All about payment of MGVCL electricity bills online

On September 15, 2003, the Gujarat Electrical Board (GEB) established Madhya Gujarat Vij Company Ltd. in the capacity of an electricity company. MGVCL was one of several companies formed as part of an effort to reorganise the sector of the electrical industry that operates in the state of Gujarat in India.

Paying MGVCL bills is easy. Follow the steps outlined below. 

  • To begin, go to the official  MGVCL portal.

  • On the home page, move your mouse to the “Consumer Links” tab and then click on “Consumer Services”.

  • A new page will open. 
  • Now select “ Online Payment”

  • You will be presented with 3 options. Select the first one i.e. Quick payment through (Billdesk or Paytm).

  • You will be redirected to a new page.  
  • Read the payment transaction guidelines, scroll down, and press continue.

  • Select your payment option.

  • Scroll down and enter your 11-digit consumer number with the captcha code.

  • After verifying your details, click the check consumer number to validate your payment details and begin processing.
  • You will be sent to the Payment Gateway.
  • After payment processing has been completed, the Payment Acknowledgement will be displayed.
  • By pressing the Print button, you can access the copy of the payment confirmation. 
  • In this way, you will be able to pay your bill successfully online.

 

MGVCL: Processing fee when users pay by BillDesk/Paytm 

  • There are no Netbanking fees for the first transaction on a bill. Customers who make several transactions on the same bill will incur transaction processing costs of Rs 2.50 for each transaction.
  • For transactions up to Rs 2,000.00/- plus relevant service tax, a 0.75 per cent fee is assessed; for transactions beyond Rs 2,000.00/- plus applicable service tax, a 0.85 per cent fee is considered.
  • The user will be charged transaction processing fees for Credit cards in the amount of 0.85% of the transaction amount plus applicable service tax, with a minimum of Rs. 5.00/-  applicable service tax.
  • Wallet and other EBPP channels are free for single-transaction per-bill use. Customers who make several transactions on the same bill will incur transaction processing costs of Rs 2.50 for each transaction.

  • Click on the link displayed “ Register now.”

  • You will be redirected to an application portal.  
  • From the drop-down tab, select MGVCL.

  • To successfully apply for a new connection, you must provide all the necessary information.

MGVCL: List of documents required for new connection 

For LT & HT commercial and residential connections

  • Documents related to possession of the premises in accordance with the law
  • Documentation proving the applicant’s identity

 

For LT & HT industrial connections

  • Documentation verifying the applicant’s identity (together with a letter of authorisation in the case of a business or corporation).
  • Evidence that the premises are occupied by the owner, in accordance with the floor plan.

The MGVCL app is only available on the Android Play Store. To download: 

  • Go to the play store. 
  • Type “MGVCL” 
  • Simply select the first application that shows up. 
  • Click on “install”  to successfully download the app.
