The Arun Jaitley Stadium is located on the Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, New Delhi. Operated by the Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA), the stadium was earlier known as the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium. This Arun Jaitley Stadium is the second oldest functional international cricket stadium in India, after the Eden Gardens of Kolkata.

  •   The stadium was established in 1883.
  •   The stadium was known as the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium before it was renamed as the Arun Jaitley Stadium on September 12, 2019, after the late DDCA president and finance minister Arun Jaitley.
  •   The stadium can accommodate around 55,000 people.
  •   There are nine pitches in the main square of the Arun Jaitley Cricket Stadium.
  •   Gates 1, 3, 6 and 8 are for VIP entry, Gate 2 is for players and ambulances, Gates 10- 18 are for the general public to enter  and Gates 7 and 9 are for the fire engines to be parked.

 

Arun Jaitley Cricket Stadium: Project refurbishing cost

As per reports, the stadium underwent refurbishing recently, the estimated costs of which is around Rs 125 crore. The Arun Jaitley Cricket Stadium is maintained the DDCA and the Delhi Capitals (IPL team, for whom it is the home ground).
