January 15, 2024: In a significant move to enhance the state’s infrastructure, the Arunachal Pradesh Cabinet Committee on Infrastructure (CCI) has granted approval for 2,816 projects under the State Infrastructure Development Fund (SIDF) phase-1 for the fiscal year 2023-24. The sanctioned projects, totaling over Rs 1,253 crore, aim to streamline the current year’s expenditure within Rs 626 crore for implementation under SIDF.
These approved projects span across various departments, including Health and Family Welfare, Higher and Technical Education, Home, Indigenous Affairs, Panchayati Raj, Tourism, Environment, and Forests. It’s essential to note that these allocations are provisional and will be utilized by the concerned departments after confirming the actual requirements and adhering to SIDF guidelines and related formalities.
The awarding of all projects will adhere to existing rules, government orders, and compliance with General Financial Rules (GFR) and Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) guidelines. Departments will incur expenses only after budgeting in consultation with the Finance, Planning, and Investment department of the Budget Division, with final regularization during the finalization of Revised Estimates for 2023-24. Additionally, the nodal department and executing agency (where applicable) are tasked with maintaining proper coordination to ensure that the projects are executed in accordance with prescribed norms and specifications.
