The Ashram Metro station in Delhi is known to be the smallest metro station in the world. It is a part of the 9.7-kilometre section of Delhi Metro’s Pink Line, this underground station spans a mere 151.6 metre in length, significantly smaller than the average 265 metre for other metro stations.
The construction of the Ashram Metro Station was challenging. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) had to overcome numerous legal battles for land acquisition at one of Delhi’s busiest intersections. These delays prompted the designers to devise a space-saving solution, resulting in the world’s smallest metro station.
