The Bharat Darshan Park in Punjabi Bagh, Delhi, has waste-material reproductions of iconic Indian monuments. It’s akin to the Waste to Wonders theme park. The green park is home to around 22 replicas of Indian historical and religious structures that were produced in under 22 months by 200 artisans.  The park is roughly 8.5 acre and is an ideal location for a picnic. The Bharat Darshan Park is powered by solar panels and contains a sewage treatment system, ensuring an environmentally friendly atmosphere.

Bharat Darshan Park: An overview

The Bharat Darshan Park allows you to see landmarks of the whole country in Delhi. Monuments are created with around 350 tonne of waste material and feature replicas of historical and religious sites.

Bharat Darshan Park’s reproductions include automobile components, metal scraps, iron sheets, nuts & bolts and rods. The scrap materials were all obtained from municipal shops.

In addition to the monument replicas, the park has a 1.5 km walking trail, a children’s play area, sculpted waterfalls, ponds, fountains, and an amphitheatre for cultural events.

Bharat Darshan Park: Attractions

The Taj Mahal, Qutub Minar, Khajuraho Temple, Sanchi Stupa, Nalanda University, Mysore Palace, Charminar, Gateway of India, Ajanta Ellora caves, Konark Sun Temple, Hampi, Char Dham Shrines, Victoria Monument, Twang Gate, Junagarh Fort, Hawa Mahal, and Banyan Tree are among the 22 copies.

Apart from the monuments, the park contains a 1.5-kilometer-long track, an amphitheatre, and a children’s zone. The Corporation reported that it was developed with a 20 crore rupee investment and the assistance of 150 individuals.

The Theme Park is environmentally friendly, as it is powered by solar energy. It has five solar trees (each with five kilowatts) and an 84 kilowatt rooftop solar panel that illuminates monument replicas even at night and highlights the rich artwork while consuming no electricity. For water supply, it has a 1 lakh litre STP.

The illumination component is regarded to add a different appeal to the park. It employs 755 façade lights, 3 LED screens, bollard lights, one DJ set, CCTV, and several compound lights. The beauty of these reproductions is enhanced by different hues of light and relaxing music.

Thousands of exquisite flowers such as Champa,Tikoma,Kachnar, and Banjamina are planted to embellish the park’s appeal. To keep the area green, plants such as erica palm, syngonium, foxtail palm, ficus panda, and others have been planted.

 

Bharat Darshan Park: Location, fees, and hours

Bharat Darshan Park is located in New Delhi’s Punjabi Bagh neighbourhood. It is a well-known Delhi neighbourhood that is accessible by road and metro. The nearest metro stop is Punjabi Bagh West. The park features a legal but limited parking area.

The park is open from 10am to 10pm except on Mondays and national holidays.

Entrance tickets: The entry fee for Bharat Darshan Park varies depending on the time of day and the age group. In the evening, the entry fee for adults is Rs 150 and for children and senior citizens it is Rs 75. During the daytime the fee for adults is Rs 100 and for children it is Rs 50.

Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) school students can enter the park for free, while other school students have to pay an entry fee of Rs 40 per child and Rs 90 per adult.

According to SDMC, all funds are collected for garden upkeep and income production. Guests can purchase tickets online or at the park’s entrance gate. There is just one entry and exit gate, thus you must travel through one line of attractions before exiting at the last attraction.
