CIDCO completes Navi Mumbai Metro trial run

Navi Mumbai Metro Line -1 is divided into 2 phases with phase 1 from Pendhar to Central Park and phase 2 from Central Park to Belapur

CIDCO successfully completed the trial run of the Navi Mumbai Metro from Central Park (station 7) to Utsav Chowk (Station 4) on December 9, 2022.

Sanjay Mukherjee, vice-chairman and managing director, CIDCO, tweeted, “With this successful test, work on the NMM Line Phase-2 continues in full swing.

Navi Mumbai Metro Line -1 is divided into 2 phases; phase-1 from Pendhar to Central Park and phase-2 from Central Park to Belapur. CIDCO has already got approval from the safety commissioner for Phase-1.

Estimated to cost around Rs 3,400 crore, CIDCO’s Navi Mumbai Metro project recently received financial backing of Rs 500 crore from ICICI Bank.

Navi Mumbai Metro Line-1 project is a three-coach metro train. The 11.1-km Line-1 comprises 11 stations from Belapur to Pendhar. The viaduct of this project is completed and out of 11 stations, 5 stations are ready to be commissioned.

All clearances, including CMRS, have been obtained for the Navi Mumbai Metro Line-1. With work going on in full swing in the remaining 6 stations, the complete line is expected to be commissioned very soon, mentions CIDCO.
