November 2, 2023: The City and Industrial Development Corporation (Cidco) has launched the Maha Nivas housing scheme that offers luxury apartments at less than market rates. However, the scheme has been proposed only for MPs, MLAs, & MLCs, Judges of the Supreme Court, Bombay High Court and All India Services (IAS / IPS / IFS) officers of Maharashtra elected after January 2020.
Interested people have to submit an online application with Cidco and make a payment of Rs 1 lakh. Last date for submission of the application is November 12, 2023 after which the units will be given by way of lottery.
To be designed by architect Hafeez Contractor, the project is expected to be constructed at Plot no.20, Sector 15A, Palm Beach Road which is opposite the NMMC headquarters building at CBD Belapur, Navi Mumbai. This project has not launched or has been registered under RERA.

The Maha Nivas housing scheme will include over 350 homes with configurations of 3 and 4 BHKs. The 3 BHK homes are expected to have an area of 1,150 sqft plus 120 sqft deck which is optional and the 4 BHK homes are expected to have an area of 1,600 sqft plus 200 optional sqft deck. As per media reports, the cost of 3 BHK is around Rs 2.45 crore and that of 4 BHK is around Rs 3.47 crore.

The project is planned with amenities such as an outdoor and indoor gym, multi-purpose open space, amphitheater, squash court, swimming pool, garden area, mini auditorium, billiards table, walking and cycling track, parking space, etc.
