About G20 Summit: Logo and theme
The Group of Twenty (G20) is a premier forum for international economic cooperation, which plays a crucial role in strengthening global architecture and governance on major international economic issues. India holds the Presidency of the G20 from December 1, 2022 to November 30, 2023. At present, the G20 comprises 19 countries, including India, the United Kingdom, the United States of America, Australia, China, France, Germany, Japan, Russia, among other nations.
According to the official G20 website, the theme is Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, which is a Sanskrit phrase from the Maha Upanishad meaning One Earth, One Family, One Future.
The G20 logo, which was unveiled by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2022, draws inspiration from the vibrant colours of the national flag – saffron, white and green and blue. The logo juxtaposes planet Earth with the national flower lotus, which reflects growth amid challenges. Earth reflects the country’s pro-planet approach to life, one in perfect harmony with nature. Below the G20 logo, the word ‘Bharat’ is written in the Devanagari script along with 2023 India.
