Delhi CM inaugurates 180 new govt websites

The government has moved to cloud storage and removed the server system.

Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal inaugurated 180 new websites of 50 departments of the Delhi government, including the transport department and the public works department on April 25, 2023.

Calling artificial intelligence (AI) as the future of technology, Kejriwal said that it must be seen how AI can be used by the government to make services more accessible to the public. The 180 websites of these departments have been integrated into one portal of the Delhi government. The old websites were driven by old technology and were not tab-friendly. The CM said that the government has moved to cloud storage and removed the server system. Thus, server crashes would not happen and websites have the latest technology, sufficient bandwidth and space.

According to Delhi revenue and finance minister Kailash Gahlot, the websites were upgraded around 15 years ago and were prone to glitches whenever traffic increased. However, the new sites would not crash even if traffic increases to a couple of lakhs per second. The new websites are mobile-friendly and latest technology have been adopted.
