June 5, 2023: In a notification issued on May 26, 2023, the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has approved the policy for the amalgamation of shops/ plots in case of integrated schemes of commercial centres, according to a TOI report. Subject to payment of requisite charges, the policy will apply to all commercial plots allotted by the authority, including local shopping complexes and community centres.
In exercise of power conferred by sub-section (1) of section 57 of the Delhi Development Act, 1957, DDA with the previous approval of the Central Government, made the regulations, the notification stated.
The notification stated that the regulations would be called the Delhi Development Authority (amalgamation charges for Integrated Schemes of Commercial Centres) Regulations, 2023. The amalgamation charges would apply to plots in commercial centres at 10% of the circle rates for commercial properties as notified by the Government of NCT of Delhi prevailing on the date of submission of a request for amalgamation under the policy. The rates would apply on the total area of the amalgamated plot.
In cases where the plots had been amalgamated without prior approval or without complying the terms of permission so granted, and an application is filed for regularisation of amalgamation with DDA, the applicant will require to pay additional charges of 20% of the circle rates to obtain approval.
