December 6, 2023: The special Diwali Housing Scheme recently launched by the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has received over 9,000 registrations since November 24, 2023. The housing scheme offers over 32,000 flats across various categories on a ‘first-come-first-serve’ (FCFS) basis. These flats are located in areas such as Dwarka, Lok Nayak Puram and Narela.
The DDA has also garnered about 850 registrations for its premium apartments available through an e-auction since November 30, 2023, according to media reports. The e-auction for these DDA flats has been scheduled for January 5, 2024.
Under one of its biggest housing schemes, the DDA is offering luxury flats through e-auction, which will comprise penthouses, super HIGs (super High-Income Groups) and HIGs in Dwarka 19B overlooking the DDA golf course.
Interested buyers are required to pay money upfront for participating in the online bidding process. If one does not win the bid, the money will be refunded after the bidding is over.
The amount will depend on the type of flat one is interested in:
- Penthouses – Rs 25 lakh
- Super HIG flats – Rs 20 lakh
- HIG flats – Rs 15 lakh
- MIG flats – Rs 10 lakh
There are 1,300 fancy apartments in Dwarka 19B, which includes 14 penthouses, 170 super HIG flats, 946 HIG flats, 316 MIG flats at Dwarka Sector 19B and 647 MIG flats at Lok Nayak Puram. These luxury flats and penthouses are a part of a fancy apartment complex.
According to the scheme brochure, the last date for online registration for participating in e-auction and submission of online Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) is December 29, 2023, up to 6 PM.

What is the eligibility to participate in DDA e-auction?
To participate in the DDA e-auction, one has to be an Indian citizen with a minimum age of 18 years as on the last date of submission of the application and legally competent to enter into a contract.
Can you participate in DDA e-auction and apply for the flats under FCFS?
Yes, citizens can buy flats offered under both e-auction and FCFS under the DDA’s special housing scheme.
