Delhi Development Authority (DDA) will hold the draw of lots on December 15, 2022, for the allotment of houses to waitlisted applicants under the Special Housing Scheme 2021. In an official statement, DDA said that the draw will be based on a random number generation system and will be conducted in the presence of independent observers, including a retired judge and senior central government officials.

DDA launched the special housing scheme on December 23, 2021. The scheme was closed on March 10, 2022. A total of 18,335 houses under different categories like HIG, MIG, LIG and Janta flats, have been offered under the scheme. The flats are located across the city, including Jasola, Dwarka, Rohini, and Narela. DDA flats offered under the scheme are those that were unsold in the earlier housing schemes launched by DDA.
DDA had announced the housing scheme via a newspaper advertisement wherein it mentioned that flats were being offered at discounted prices. On April 18, 2022, DDA conducted the draw of lots for the scheme for applicants, and it was live-streamed.
According to DDA, it initially placed 18,335 flats across 28 localities under the housing scheme. In response, about 12,387 applicants deposited the registration fees, although 22,100 had registered for the scheme.
