The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) is planning to conduct a mini draw of flats in September 2022 for the waitlisted applicants under its special housing scheme 2021. The authority had launched a new housing scheme in December 2021 that offered 18,335 flats with all the housing units being drawn from its old inventory.
In a public notice issued on August 16, 2022, DDA said that it is planning a ‘mini draw’ of lots for the waitlisted applicants under its special housing scheme 2021 in September 2022.
Under the special housing scheme, DDA flats were offered across different categories at various locations in Delhi, including Dwarka, Narela, Rohini and Jasola. The flats were offered across four categories, viz. economically weaker section (EWS)/ Janta flats, lower income group (LIG), middle-income group (MIG) and higher income group (HIG).
Initially, DDA placed 18,335 flats across 28 localities in Delhi under the housing scheme. It received responses from only 12,387 applicants who deposited the mandatory registration fees. Around 22,100 applicants registered for the scheme.
The draw for the allotment of flats to the applicants of the special housing scheme 2021 was held on April 18, 2022. The draw of lots, which was live streamed for the public, was conducted based on the Random Number Generation System in the presence of three independent observers headed by a retired high court judge and senior DDA officers.
