January 22, 2024: The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has efficiently disbursed over Rs 460 crore to more than 2,300 bidders participating in its recent and ongoing housing scheme, as per an official statement released on January 21, 2024, as cited by media sources. This swift allocation of funds is considered a record achievement and aims to streamline the process for successful bidders.
The Lieutenant-Governor of Delhi, VK Saxena, directed the DDA to transfer Earnest Money Deposits (EMDs) into the bank accounts of applicants within a 15-day timeframe to prevent any inconvenience and bureaucratic delays. The EMDs for nearly all bidders have been successfully credited to their bank accounts, with only 50 pending cases due to procedural issues with the banks, which are expected to be resolved promptly.
Under the direct supervision of L-G VK Saxena, who serves as the DDA chairman, the authority has made significant strides in selling more than 8,000 flats from its existing inventory over the past year. The ongoing housing scheme, featuring Phase-II of the e-auction, includes offerings such as seven penthouses, 32 Super HIG, and 476 HIG flats in Sector 19B of Dwarka, along with 192 MIG flats in Dwarka’s Sector 14. Additionally, the first-cum-first-serve scheme for various other flats located across the city is currently operational.
