January 5, 2024: The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) commenced an e-auction at 11 AM today for the allocation of around 2,093 newly developed flats in its Diwali Special Housing Scheme 2023, as per media reports. The scheme includes ready-to-move-in premium flats, some of which are nearing completion and will be available for possession soon. These flats are located in Dwarka Sector 19B and Sector 14 and Loknayakpuram in Delhi.
The DDA launched the Diwali special housing scheme on November 30, 2023, for which the last date of EMD submission was December 29, 2023, and the final submission date of the application was January 1, 2024.
DDA Diwali Special Housing Scheme 2023: e-Auction
The e-auction process will involve 3055 participants who have paid the EMD charges for the flats. According to the December 2023 DDA notification, individuals seeking to participate in the bidding process were required to submit the Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) charges for the respective flats. The charges were:
- MIG 2BHK flats: Rs 10 lakh
- HIG 3BHK flats: Rs 15 lakh
- Super HIG 4 BHK flats: Rs 20 lakh
- Penthouse 5BHK: Rs 25 lakh

According to the DDA’s official notification, the bidding process will be conducted for one hour, and if any higher bid is placed in the last five minutes, the bidding process will automatically be extended by five minutes. The process will be continued for a maximum of 20 times. Thus, any auction can go for a maximum period of two hours and 40 minutes (i.e., initial 1 hour plus 20 x 5 minutes).
The DDA advised the applicants to go through the e-Auction instructions, FAQs, demo YouTube video and read all the terms & conditions of the scheme brochure and participate in the Demo sessions that have been scheduled from January 2 to 4, 2024, with one batch starting at 11 AM and the other batch starting at 3 PM. These were aimed to prepare them for participating in the live auction process.
