The Delhi government is likely to notify the new building bye-laws soon and simplify the procedure of sanctioning building plans in the national capital.

Chief secretary Kewal Kumar Sharma, on May 31, 2016, said that the Urban Development Department is in the final stage of firming up the draft of the new bye-laws.

Sharma said the new bye-laws will be notified over the next few days and the process of application is also being simplified by the government.

“An applicant will just have to fill one centralised online form. The application would automatically be forwarded to the agencies concerned, like the MCD, Delhi Jal Board, fire department, etc. The building certificate will be issued in 21 days,” Sharma said, at a programme in the Delhi Secretariat.

The Urban Development Department of Delhi government notifies new building bye-laws and the municipal corporation is the agency that implements them.
