Infrastructure projects such as expressways and the Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) have been planned to provide connectivity to the far-flung areas in the National Capital Region (NCR). The Delhi-Meerut RRTS is an 82-km corridor connecting Delhi and Meerut via Ghaziabad. Once operational, Delhi-Meerut RRTS will provide a convenient way for commuters to reach their destination, significantly reducing travel time. The Delhi-Meerut Expressway is an alternative route that commuters can take to travel between the two cities.
Here’s a comparison of the travel time involved in commuting through the RRTS and the Delhi-Meerut Expressway.
Which is the fastest route from Delhi to Meerut?
The Delhi-Meerut Expressway is a 96-km, 14-lane expressway and enables those travelling by road to reach Meerut from Delhi in around 1.5 hours. On the other hand, the upcoming RRTS route will be a faster route, reducing the travel time between the two cities to just 60 minutes.
