The e Medhabruti scholarship is an initiative by the Government of Odisha to provide students in the state with the financial assistance they need to afford college and further their education. The merit-cum-means scholarship allows students to enter or stay in college without worrying about how much it will cost.

E Medhabruti scholarship: Eligibility criteria

The e-Medhabruti Scholarship is a need-based scholarship for students from Odisha, provided and administered by the Government of Odisha. To be eligible for the e-Medhabruti Scholarship, students must be a resident of Odisha with a family income of not more than Rs 6,00,000.

 

Junior Merit Scholarship
  • The applicant must be enrolled in higher secondary (Class 12).
  • The applicant must have attained a minimum aggregate of 60% in class 10.
Senior Merit Scholarship
  • The applicant should be currently pursuing a three-year undergraduate course.
  • The applicant must have secured a minimum aggregate of 60% in higher secondary (Class 12).
PG Merit Scholarship
  • The applicant must be enrolled in a postgraduate degree in arts, commerce, science, or any other professional specialisation.
  • The applicant must have secured a minimum aggregate of 60% in the undergraduate degree.
Technical and Professional Merit Scholarship
  • The applicant must have secured a minimum aggregate of 60% in higher secondary (Class 12) or undergraduate degree.
  • The applicant must be currently enrolled in a technical or professional course. 

 

E Medhabruti scholarship: Exemptions to the eligibility criteria

The following students don’t meet the prerequisites to apply for the e-Medhabruti Scholarship 2022.

 

  • Individuals enrolled in open universities/ distance learning/ correspondence.
  • Individuals who have already availed of a scholarship for their higher education.
  • Individuals enrolled in diploma courses.
  • Individuals pursuing M.Phil or PhD.
  • Individuals pursuing B.ED or M.ED. 
  • Individuals seeking their higher studies in non-accredited institutions.
  • Individuals seeking higher studies abroad.
  • Individuals seeking a technical/ professional course after completing another.
  • Individuals who are not validated by the principal/ head of the institution during their first year in the institution.

 

E Medhabruti scholarship: Documents required 

While filling out the e-Medhabruti Scholarship form, the applicant is required to submit a few KYC documents for verification purposes.

 

  • Domicile certificate of Odisha for proof of permanent residency
  • Proof of annual income
  • Marksheet of the previous examination
  • Details regarding the applicant’s bank account
  • College ID card
  • Aadhaar card

E Medhabruti scholarship: How to apply?

The scholarship application for the e-Medhabruti is available online on the e-Medhabruti website. The application must be completed in full and submitted by the deadline to be considered. Along with the completed application, students must also submit a scanned copy of the above-mentioned documents:

E Medhabruti scholarship reward scheme

The students are selected on a merit-cum-means basis, i.e., to qualify for the scholarship, the applicants must secure at least 60% in their previous qualifying examination and demonstrate the need for financial assistance. Once the merit list of the qualifying students is decided, they will receive the following scholarship amount:
