February 14, 2024: Starting April 1, 2024, Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority (MahaRERA) will be providing facility to register the properties in the developer or promoters offices, said additional secretary of revenue Rajagopal Devara, mentions a ToI report. The project must have at least 50 units to avail this facility.
Speaking at the CREDAI Dalan 2024, Devara mentioned that the state will organise a mechanism that will help builders and promoters get permission at their doorstep.
He also mentioned that similar to how the Maharashtra state government has allowed buyers in Mumbai and Pune Districts to register their property from any office in those cities, buyers in Kolhapur District will be extended this facility. They will be able to register their property in any registry office in the Kolhapur district and not necessarily be limited to jurisdiction of their registry office.
The state government is developing 50 model registry offices across the state with all facilities and two of them are in Kolhapur District, mentioned Devera as per the TOI report.
In the event, he also added that Maharashtra also aims to increase revenue through stamp duty registration from around the present Rs 50,000 crore to Rs 75,000 crore in the next two years. Also, the decision on whether the ready reckoner rate has to be changed or not will be made after a review.
