July 26, 2024: A triplex apartment of late Bollywood actor Dilip Kumar’s bungalow in Mumbai’s Pali Hill, redeveloped into a luxurious residential complex, has been sold for Rs 172 crore. The apartment has been purchased by a company named Apco Infratech Private Limited, according to the property registration documents accessed by Zapkey.com.
The sea-facing triplex apartment, located on the 9th, 10th and 11th floor of the building, has a carpet area of 9,527 square foot (sqft). The property was sold at a price of Rs 1.62 lakh per sqft. The apartment is located within the redevelopment project named The Legend, being developed by Black Rock, a subsidiary of the Ashar Group. The stamp duty for the purchase was Rs 9.3 crore and the registration fee was Rs 30,000.
In 2023, the company announced that it would undertake the construction of a luxury building on the plot where the legendary actor’s bungalow was located. The structure will include a luxurious 10-11-storey residential building and a museum commemorating the actor.
As per reports, Dilip Kumar acquired the bungalow from Abdul Latif in September 1953. However, following his marriage to Saira Banu in 1966, the actor reportedly moved out of the bungalow and resided at her residence.
As per media reports, the agreement value of the transaction is Rs 155 crore, whereas Ashar Group has confirmed in a statement that the apartment was sold for a total value of Rs 172 crore.
