Set the price

Once you have decided to sell the property, do research on the prevailing market rates of properties in the location. Decide on a property rate that is based on the market conditions and condition of your property.

Prepare your property

  • Next, the buyer has to work out the dynamics of payment. “When I was selling my property for Rs 1.04 crore, I still had an outstanding loan of Rs 75 lakh that I had taken from a non-banking financial company (NBFC). The buyer sorted his payment method and paid me part and paid the outstanding home loan to the NBFC directly,” said, Anil Kaushik, a property owner who recently sold his 2 BHK without a broker. 
  • Next, the stamp duty and registration charges have to be paid for the property to legalise transfer of ownership. The sale deed is registered here and the sale deed details configuration, name of new owner, value of property, amenities that it comes with etc. With the sale deed in hand, the buyer gets all ownership rights of the property and the deal is completed.
