DTC to launch WhatsApp ticket booking service in 2024

People can avoid long queues by using the to-be introduced WhatsApp ticket booking feature.

December 13, 2023: Taking cue from the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), the Delhi transport department will soon make available the facility for people to buy Delhi Transport Corporation’s (DTC) bus tickets through Whatsapp.

Reports suggest that this ticketing service for Delhi buses through WhatsApp will be made available from the start of 2024. The government is yet to announce the date from which the service will start.

 

How to book using WhatsApp number?

  • Citizens of Delhi will be given a WhatsApp number where they have to send a ‘Hi’ and proceed with the booking.
  • Payments can be done through UPI, credit card, debit card, for a convenience fee.
  • Once booked the tickets cannot be cancelled.
  • A traveller can buy only a limited number of tickets.
