July 11, 2024: The Mumbai Police’s Economic Offences Wing (EOW) on July 9, 2024 arrested Kamala Mills owner and real estate developer Ramesh Govani in connection with a Rs 67.50 crore fraud case, mention media reports.Â
According to reports, Govani, who is also a director of a private land development company had failed to pay consideration amount of Rs 67.5 crore to the complainant for a project purchased in Khardanda area. Govani ignored the repeated demands for the payment leading to the complainant filing the complaint.Â
Thus, a case was registered against Govani under sections 409 (criminal breach of trust), 420 (cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property) and 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). He was summoned for questioning at the EOW office and was arrested on finding his involvement, media reports mentioned.Â
