What is EPS nomination and how to do it?

Members of the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) have the option to save money in their pension fund with two types of accounts: Employee Provident Fund (EPF) and Employee Pension Scheme (EPS). While the employer and employee, both contribute to the EPF account every month, only the employer contributes to the employee’s EPS account. All the EPFO members, whose basic salary is up to Rs 15,000, are eligible for the EPS.

How to complete EPS nomination?

All EPF members can file their EPS e-nomination using their UAN Login on the EPFO official website. Follow these steps to complete the process.

Step 1: Go to the unified EPFO member portal. Log in with the UAN, password and captcha.

Step 2: On the home page, go to the ‘Manage’ option.

Step 3: Under the ‘Manage’ category, select the ‘e-nomination’ option.

Step 4: On the next page, indicate if you have a family or not. If you click on the ‘Yes’ box, you will see the option to add a family member. Upload their photo and enter their Aadhaar number and details. On successful verification, the family member will be added.

Step 4: Add other family members by providing their Aadhaar numbers, photographs and details.

Step 5: Select nominees from the family list and enter the total amount of shares. Once done, click on ‘Save EPF Nomination’.

Step 6: Once the nominee request is made, you will see the pending nominee status. Check the nominee details and e-sign your nomination form.

Step 7: Click on the ‘e-sign’ option and enter your Aadhaar number. Click the ‘Get OTP’ option. Enter the OTP in the required field and click on the ‘Submit’ option.

Step 8: Your EPS e-nomination is now complete. To view a PDF form of your EPF nomination, click on the green dot on the top. A PDF file will be downloaded to your system.

No physical document submission is required once the EPS nominee declaration is complete.
