Fragaria ananassa is considered to be one of the youngest domesticated plants, which originated in the 18th century. It was introduced through hybridization in Europe between the North American F. virginiana and the South American F. chiloensis as documented by the botanist Antoine Nicolas Duchesne. During the 19th century, several countries developed their own varieties of the tree suited to the region’s climatic conditions, altitude, day length, or type of production needed in a particular area.

  • 1 large jalapeño pepper, seeded and minced
