Gadkari sanctions Rs 691.70 cr for construction of Kotdwar Bypass

The 4-lane bypass will connect Bijnor in UP and Pauri in Uttarakhand.

The government has given an approval for the construction of 6-km Kotdwar Bypass on the National Highway-119, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari said today.

To be developed at an estimated cost of Rs 691.70 crore, the 4-lane bypass will connect Bijnor district in Uttar Pradesh and Pauri district in Uttarakhand, the minister said in a post.

Gadkari said this route would act as a bypass for the Kotdwar city, reducing congestion and increasing connectivity with Uttar Pradesh. “It will also promote the development of tourism in the state. Will improve connectivity to the pilgrimage sites Kedarnath and Badrinath Dhams,” Gadkari said.
