Union minister of state for agriculture Shobha Karandlaje on February 23, 2023, said PM Modi would release the 13th instalment of the PM Kisan on February 27 from Karnataka. The 13th installment has been pending Since November 2022.
Previous pattern shows that the first instalment for the year is transferred between December and March, the second between April and July, and the third between August and November.
Under the centrally sponsored PM-KISAN scheme, the government pays Rs 6,000 per year in 3 equal instalments to eligible farmers in the country through direct benefit transfer. Typically, there is a gap of 3-4 months between PM Kisan installments.
The number of beneficiaries under the PM-KISAN scheme has increased from 3.16 crore at the inception in 2018 to 8.42 crore now, agriculture minister Narendra Singh Tomar told the Rajya Sabha in December 2022. In a written reply to the Upper house, Tomar said that the number of PM Kisan beneficiaries peaked at 10.45 crore during April-July 2022 when the 11th instalment was paid. More than Rs 2 lakh crore had been released so far to approximately 11.3 crore eligible farmer families as of November 2022, he added.

4 must-do thing to get PM Kisan 13th installment
Farmers who meet the following conditions will be offered the 13th installment:
- Land record proof, showing his name as the owner f the land
- KYC
- Bank account should be linked with Aadhaar
- Bank account should be linked with NPCI
In case a farmer does not meet all these conditions, his name will not be included in the PM Kisan 13th installment list.
