AICTEsScholarship: Qualifications

Remember that each AICTE scholarship has its unique set of eligibility requirements. While the Saksham scholarship is for students with disabilities, the Pragati scholarship is for female students.   • Students must be enrolled in the first or second year (through the lateral entrance) of a technical diploma/degree program at an AICTE-approved school.

AICTE-Pragati Scholarship
  • The scholarship is offered to women who have been admitted to the first or second year (through lateral entry) of a technical diploma/degree program at an institution/college accredited by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
  • The annual income of the family must not exceed 8 Lakh Rs.
  • Two daughters per family are permitted to apply for the scholarship.
AICTE PG (GATE/GPAT) Scholarship 
  • Students who have earned appropriate GATE/GPAT scores may apply.
  • Students must be enrolled in the first year of a ME/ MTech/ M.Pharma/ M.Arch program at an AICTE-approved institution or college.
  • The pupils are also required to have a basic savings account.
  • Candidates enrolled in part-time studies are ineligible.
National AICTE Doctoral Fellowship Scheme
  • The scholarship is available to research scholars admitted to an AICTE-approved research institute.
  • The minimal CGPA for both BE/BTech/B.Pharma and ME/MTech/M.Pharma should be 7.5 on a scale of 10 or 75% or higher. (Note: The CGPA minimum for SC/ST/PH applicants is 7.0 on a scale of 10 or 70% or above or its equivalent.)
  • The student must have passed the GATE/GPAT within the previous five years.
  • The applicant must be younger than 30 years old as of the application deadline. (Note: SC/ST/women/disabled applicants have a 5-year age exemption.
Prime Minister Special Scholarship Scheme (PMSSS) in Jammu and Kashmir
  • Only Jammu and Kashmir residents are eligible to apply for this scholarship.
  • They must have graduated from a J&K Board or CBSE-affiliated high school in J&K.
  • Students with a diploma from J&K state Polytechnics after completing the 10th grade are also eligible to apply and gain direct admission to the degree program for the 2017-18 professional category seats.
  • Students must be willing to pursue a regular general/professional/medical degree program from the PMSSS-approved list of out-of-state universities.
  • The annual income of the family must not exceed 8 Lakh Rs.
