Floor tiles have become popular across the world as they are long-lasting, durable, water-resistant, and affordable. However, they gather dust and grime quickly. This means you need to pay special attention while cleaning these tiles. Regular sweeping, or vacuum cleaning can prevent the dust from settling there. But deep cleaning of the tiles may be necessary to maintain their shine.

Sweep the floor/go for vacuuming
The cleaning process starts with a broom or vacuum cleaner to collect dust and grime.
Prepare a cleaning solution
Mix mild detergents, or tile cleaner with warm water in a bucket. Avoid using harsh chemicals that may damage tiles or grout.
Mop the floor
Dip a clean mop into the cleaning solution and wring out excess water. Mop the floor, focusing on one section at a time. Be careful not to oversaturate tiles or grout.
Scrub grout lines
For stained, or dirty grout lines, use a soft brush, or an old toothbrush dipped in the cleaning solution. Gently scrub the grout lines to remove dirt.

Address stubborn stains
If there is stubborn stain on tiles, make a paste using baking soda and water. Apply the paste to the stain. Wait for few minutes. Scrub it using a brush.
Wash the floor
After mopping, rinse the floor thoroughly with water to remove soap residue, or cleaning solution.
Dry the floor
Use clean, dry microfiber cloths or towels to dry the floor and prevent water spots, or streaks. Wet floor can lead to slippages. So, this step is important.
Address grout sealing
If your grout is unsealed, or sealant has worn off, apply a grout sealer to protect it from further damage. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for application.
