EPF transfer process in 2023

PF account holders with activated UAN can transfer money from one PF account to another. This guide will help you with the online EPF transfer process.

PF transfer online: Process in 2023

Step 1: Visit the EPFO unified portal. Log in using your UAN, password and captcha code.

Step 2: Your details will appear on the home screen.

Step 3: Under the ‘Online Services’ tab, click on the ‘One Member-One EPF Account (Transfer Request)’ option.

Step 4: The new page will show your personal details.

Step 5: The page will also show you the details of the account where your PF money will be transferred.

Step 6: You have the option to get your PF transfer claim attested either by your present employer or past employer, based on the availability of the DSC-authorised signatory. Select the employer who fulfils that requirement and provide their details.

Step 7: An OTP will be sent to your mobile for verification. Enter the OPT in the requested field and click on ‘Submit’.

Step 8: Fill up Form 13 online to proceed with the PF transfer request. To know the details you will have to fill in Form 13, click here.

Step 9: Take a printout of the duly filled form, sign it and submit it to your employer within 10 days.

Step 10: After due verification from your employer, your PF money will be transferred to your new account.

Preconditions for online EPF transfer

• UAN login must be activated.
• The registered mobile number must be active.
• EPF e-KYC must be completed.
• Account details must be synced with the PF account.
• PF numbers of past and present employers must be available with the EPFO.
• The digital authorised signatures of past and present employers must be available with the EPFO.
• Form 13 should be filled and approved, for online PF transfer.

Note that the EPFO accepts only one transfer request against one member ID.
