Jeevan Pramaan certificate: Digital life certificate for pensioners

The jeevan pramaan certificate helps retirees submit their life certificates digitally

For most retired workers, a pension is their only source of income. Employees of the central and state governments who retire also receive a monthly pension. To continue receiving a pension, a beneficiary must present the life certificate each year in the month of November.

It can be challenging for elderly or ill pensioners to go to the bank each year to submit the life certificate. The government has devised a remedy for it and introduced the digital life certificate, also known as Jeevan Pramaan.

Now, instead of having to go to the bank every year, retirees can submit their life certificates digitally. This is a much more convenient option for those who may have difficulty getting to the bank in person.

Jeevan Pramaan certificate: What is it?

Pensioners can create and share their biometrically enabled digital life certificates with Pension Disbursing Agencies using Jeevan Pramaan (PDAs). Retired government employees from federal, state, and other institutions can use the facility.

Senior citizens and other retired workers find it challenging to physically visit the bank each year and submit a life certificate. By visiting the Jeevan Pramaan portal or downloading the Jeevan Pramaan app on their smartphones, these pensioners can generate digital life certificates using Aadhaar-based biometric authentication.

This process is convenient and efficient, allowing retired workers to quickly and easily obtain their life certificates without having to visit a physical location.

Jeevan Pramaan certificate: Advantages

Pensioners can easily submit their digital life certificates (DLC), thanks to Jeevan Pramaan. The Aadhaar-biometric authentication is used for the verification, which reduces the possibility of fraudulent activity. The pensioner receives an SMS when the Jeevan Pramaan certificate is successfully generated. No DLC can be created without the pensioner’s consent. The pensioner receives his monthly pension payment in his pension account after it is submitted.

Jeevan Pramaan certificate: How to get the certificate online?

To use Jeevan Pramaan services, users can access the Jeevan Pramaan website or mobile application. The user must download and install the app appropriate for their device (Mac, Windows, or Android). To use Jeevan Pramaan services, a biometric device must be connected to the device (smartphone, PC, or tablet) in order to verify the user’s identity.

Steps to register

To register for Jeevan Pramaan, follow these steps:

  • On your device, launch the Jeevan Pramaan app.
  • Select “New Registration” from the menu.
  • Enter your phone number, bank account, Aadhaar number, and pension payment order.
  • To generate an OTP and send it to the specified mobile number, click send OTP.
  • Fill in this OTP to continue.
  • Use Aadhaar to verify your information using a biometric (iris or fingerprint) scan.
  • After you click “Submit”, UIDAI will verify your information, and if your registration is successful, a Pramaan ID will be generated.
  • You can use this Pramaan ID to access your Jeevan Pramaan account.

Eligibility criteria

Jeevan Pramaan’s services are available to those who meet the requirements below:

  • You must be retired.
  • You must be a former government worker (Central Government, State Government or other Government institutions)
  • Aadhaar number is necessary.
  • You need to register the Aadhaar number with the Pension Distributing Agency.

Jeevan Pramaan certificate: How to use the Jeevan Pramaan app

With the Jeevan Pramaan app, you can generate your Pramaan ID and OTP online.

To do this, simply follow these steps:

Logging in:

Log into the app with your Pramaan ID and OTP. Before you can begin using Pramaan, you will have to register on the Pramaan website.

Choose ‘Generate Jeevan Pramaan’:

Next, click on the Generate Jeevan Pramaan option from the options in the menu bar.

Aadhar and mobile number:

Enter your Aadhaar number and mobile number, then click ‘Generate OTP’.

OTP:

You’ll receive an OTP via text, which you can then enter into the corresponding field.

Fill in your details:

While filling out the form, you will be asked to provide personal information such as the pensioner’s name, PPO number, pension type, sanctioning authority’s name, disbursing agency’s name, agency’s name, email address, etc. In addition, you will need to choose from the Remarried or Reemployed options.

Biometric:

You need to select the “no objection” radio button and then scan your iris or fingerprint to begin the authentication process. The Aadhaar data is used to verify the biometric input.

Authentication successful:

If the authentication is successful, the Jeevan Pramaan will be displayed on the screen.

A confirmation message containing the Jeevan Pramaan Certificate ID will be sent to the pensioner’s mobile number.

Jeevan Pramaan certificate: Download

The Jeevan Pramaan certificate, or digital life certificate (DLC), is kept in the Life Certificate Repository after it has been created. Pensioners can download the certificate via the website or app, and Pension Disbursing Agency can also download it from the repository.

There are a few ways that a PDA can download the Jeevan Pramaan certificate:

  • The first step involves them logging into the pensioner’s registered account on the Jeevan Pramaan website.
  • By entering the Pramaan ID, the pensioner’s Jeevan Pramaan can be downloaded.
  • If the retiree shares the Jeevan Pramaan with the PDA, only then can it be viewed or downloaded.
  • If a Pension Disbursing Agency (PDA) is not registered, they cannot access the pensioner’s digital life certificate.

Jeevan Pravaan offline centres

A pensioner can obtain a digital life certificate by visiting a Jeevan Pramaan Centre (JPC). To find your nearest JPC:

  1. Go to the Jeevan Pramaan website
  2. Next, click “Locate a Centre”
  3. You can search for a JPC using either a “Location” or “Pincode”
  4. The search results will be shown on a map powered by Google
