October 6, 2023: The Karnataka Housing Board (KHB) is planning to develop an integrated township project near the Kempegowda International Airport in Bangalore, housing minister Zameer Ahmed Khan said, as mentioned in media reports.
The project will include residential and commercial complexes along with the integrated township on 65 acre of land out of 95.23 acre in Chikkajala-Meenukunte village.
The minister inspected the proposed township project on October 4, 2023, which will come up as a joint venture between KHB and landowners on a 50:50 percent ratio. The proposal to build a world-class integrated township at a cost of Rs 850 crore has been submitted to the government, he said.
The minister further said that farmers have already given the consent letter to hand over 43 acre of land out of 95.23 acre required for the project. The board is expected to get the remaining land.
A comprehensive action plan will be developed, followed which the government’s consent will be taken and tenders will be called.
The Karnataka Housing Board (KHB), which was established in 1962, is responsible for the development of residential and commercial, properties and infrastructure across the state.
Bangalore is an IT hub, which attracts many working professionals. Frequent travellers, homebuyers and investors seek property investment options near the airport. There are several localities such as Devanahalli, Yelahanka, Hebbal, Jakkur and Hennur near the Kempegowda International Airport, which are preferred real estate destinations.
