January 23, 2024: The Kolhapur Municipal Corporation (KMC) will be offering a 30-50% waiver on fines that have been imposed on property tax defaulters for current and previous years, mentions a ToI report. Over Rs 100 crore of property tax is owed by defaulters to the KMC.
According to a TOI report, property tax defaulters who pay property tax dues by February 15, 2024, will get a waiver of 50% of the fine. If the dues are paid between February 15 to March 15, 2024, the property tax defaulters will get a waiver of 30% of the fine.
A fine of 2% per month has to be paid by property tax defaulters for the period that they haven’t paid their property tax.  Property tax is collected by a municipal corporation on the property- be it residential, commercial or industrial owned under its jurisdiction. Kolhapur has more than 1.5 lakh property owners. The property tax is a major source of revenue for the KMC and this money is used to develop the facilities in the Kolhapur jurisdiction.

On this page, enter assessment no and click on search.
You will enter details such as assesse number, old assessment number, RS number, Plot number, Flat number, Assesse name (English) and Occupier name (Marathi) and click on search. Once you get the details, you can proceed with the payment.
